SoundRoutes Singers seeks a Choir Leader to join our team. SoundRoutes is a community choir
organisation founded in 2009, presently operating six choirs across Glasgow and Lanarkshire in addition to coordinating workshops and events. We aim to provide a fun and accessible singing experience for our members whilst striving for high musical standards. For more about us please visit https://www.soundroutessingers.com/ Candidates should have outstanding musicianship and experience in vocal performance, especially choral performance. Other essential attributes are strong communication and interpersonal skills (teaching skills), coupled with a passion for community singing and its benefits for individuals and communities. Experience in teaching, a driving licence and car are highly desirable.
The successful candidate will gain opportunities to further develop skills in song leading, arranging music for choirs, and music administration. All materials (arrangements and music tracks) will be provided. One-to-one support in the first few weeks will be provided.
This is a sessional post with flexible evening working hours. Sessions are each 90 minutes, and we allow for five hours paid time per session to include preparation, administration, travel and teaching time. The rate of pay starts at £22,522 per annum pro rata (£57.75 per session, plus holiday pay). We operate termly, Sept – June with holiday breaks, and some one-off workshops and events through the year. There will also be opportunities for additional session work, for example, in the lead-up to Christmas.
